What could be a better way to leave your office in a rainy city behind than a sailing holiday around the Mediterranean?

Getting up in less-than-favourable British weather conditions at an early hour to embark on a commute in stuffy traffic jams isn't the most exciting way to spend your days. But chartering your own yacht and sailing the Mediterranean is the complete opposite to your regular nine-to-five.

You will have plenty of space on the deck for lying back in the warm rays and topping up your tan. Here you can take a leisurely stroll along the walls, stopping off for a refreshing glass of local beer as you take in the sparkling sea and beautiful buildings. If you like religious architecture then why not check out the city's cathedral, which dates back to 1673? There is also the Baroque Church of St Blaise, which contains the city's patron saint in silver at the altar.

You may also like to set sail from Pula, which is the ideal base from which to discover the deserted islands of Silba, Cres and Krk. Soak up the sun and enjoy the peace and quiet that chartering your own yacht can deliver.
