Explore a host of islands on a Kremik yacht charter
Croatia is a fantastic destination to choose for a yacht charter holiday, with vast stretches of unspoilt coastline and beautiful islands just waiting to be discovered. There are a host of options available for both beginners and experienced sailors alike.
If you are relatively new to sailing and are keen to improve your skills while exploring some of Croatia's most stunning regions, a flotilla break could be your best option.
This kind of sailing in the Mediterranean will allow you to take control of your own vessel, but will see you travelling as part of a group, with a lead boat crewed by experienced sailors.
As a result, you can rest assured there will be someone on hand should you need a bit of assistance at any point, as well as removing the worry of navigating by yourself, as you will always be following the lead yacht to your next destination.
Should you have more experience on the waves, a bareboat charter may be the best way for you to make the most of the sailing Croatia has to offer. You'll need to have some sailing qualifications to choose this option, though.
Once you have boarded your yacht, you will have complete freedom to moor up wherever you decide and tailor your holiday to perfectly suit your needs and interests.
Of course, you can always learn to sail in the stunning surroundings of the central Dalmatian cruising area, where you'll have ample opportunity to explore some of its top attractions, while improving your skills at the helm.
So, what is there to see along this stretch of Croatia's coast? There are lots of wonderful places to visit, but where you stop will depend on whether you choose to sail north or south from Kremik.
If you want to see some truly beautiful scenery, your best bet is to travel north towards the Kornati archipelago.
This group of some 89 islands is a national park that is renowned for its stunning landscapes, biodiversity and varied coastline.
As you approach the isles, keep your eyes open for the Kornati crowns, which is how the steep - and sometimes completely vertical - sea cliffs are known. The tallest of these structures can be seen on Klobucar and it rises some 82 m above the surface of the water.
To fully appreciate these amazing rock formations, you could book a day or two of scuba diving, allowing you to view them from underwater, as well as to see some of the vibrant marine life that inhabits the region.
Other places you may want to visit on your trip to the Kornati archipelago may include the Turet Fort on Kornat, which is thought to date back to the 16th century, and the Church of Our Lady Tarac - also on Kornat - which is believed to have been constructed using the materials from an old Christian basilica that used to stand on the site.
These are just a few of the highlights of the Kornati Islands - you are bound to discover many more memorable attractions as you sail around.
However, you may decide you would prefer to spend your yacht charter break exploring the coast to the south of Kremik, in which case you can visit destinations such as Hvar, Brac and Korcula.
Hvar is a beautiful island known for its lavender crops, so you can expect the air to be filled with the fragrance as you approach and moor up your boat. Hvar Town, the island's capital, is well worth exploring, with its medieval centre and impressive castle that stands guard over the settlement.
Brac, meanwhile, is the third largest isle in the Adriatic Sea. On its western tip sits Milna, a peaceful place to go ashore for the day. The village is made from Brac stone, which is quarried on the island, and its quaint streets are ideal if you simply want to wander and soak up the atmosphere of this traditional Mediterranean fishing village.
Korcula boasts a range of architectural treasures, with buildings featuring renaissance and gothic facades to be found in its main town. Be sure to visit the Cathedral of St Marko while you are here, which is decorated inside by stunning Italian works of art.
This is a fantastic place from which to explore the nearby collection of some 20 uninhabited isles, where you will no doubt discover some secluded beaches where you can drop anchor and relax for a few hours.
