So where would you rather be?
Poetto beach in Cagliari, south Sardinia (Italy), which is also home for me!

What’s all the fuss about?
First of all, I have many memories linked to this amazing place, but there is a lot more than that. Poetto stretches eight gorgeous kilometers along the Mediterranean and also passes through the city of Cagliari itself! The beach is an easy to reach, even just for a lunch break at work. In summer, this is definitely the city’s hotspot. During daytime, the beach is packed with people, but fortunately it's big enough to host everyone without getting overcrowded. The sand here is fine and golden, and the Sella del Diavolo mountain, which overshadows the beach at one end, makes a beautiful contrast with the blue of the sea.

There are various lidos renting umbrellas and sun beds, if you want to relax with a bit of luxury, but there are also plenty of free spots on the beach too. Clustered around the beach you will find many small bars serving traditional Sardinian snacks and drinks as well. The beach is very safe and it’s a great swimming beach and an excellent place to take the kids. At night, you’ll find that Poetto has a great atmosphere and offers a wide variety of entertainment all night long, from underground concerts and discos, to chilled out bars, perfect for drinks with friends!

Vibrant, Chilled and Gorgeous

If there's only one thing I should do while I'm there, what is it?
Oh, without a doubt, try the amazing Sardinian food! Roasted pork, culurgionis (a special kind of ravioli) or the fresh and delicious seafood!

It sounds wonderful, I’ll be sure to pack my swim suit and come hungry and ready to eat!
